Reversible Outfits for Kids – A Step Towards Sustainability

It may seem like a bit of a stretch that reversible clothing can achieve sustainability. But hey, give it a thought! If you can get two outfits at the price of one that can be worn on multiple occasions without having to worry about repetition, why not! Fast fashion is the new buzz word today. Not only do you see clothing quickly move from the ramp to stores to consumers but also the quick progression to garbage dumps too – amounting to several thousand, or even millions, of tons of clothing waste.

All of us need content for Instagram every day, right? Since re-wearing an old piece of clothing isn’t hip, we make sure we have a new piece for every post or story, to let followers perceive us one of those who have an extensive walk-in wardrobe filled with the most fashionable pieces of clothing.

The solution to this – buy enough and use for as long as possible. If you’re looking for a change in style, try mixing up clothes you already have. Or better – use reversible clothing!

Hooded Jackets

How many jackets can you possibly buy for kids? Apart from the fact that kids will soon grow out of it, jackets take up way too much cupboard space! Solution: Reversible Hoodies! Get one that has a sober colour on one side, say black or grey, and a pleasant orange or red on the other side. This way, the everyday jacket can double as a party jacket.

Sleeveless Jackets

If you’re looking to jazz up your child’s costume for a special event, you should try sleeveless vests on plain shirts. You can catch sight of several sleeveless jackets with gorgeous prints – some with your child’s favourite cartoon character too!

These jackets add a special touch to any basic outfit, trust me. But how many jackets can you possibly stack up for a boy in his growing years? So, what do you do! If you haven’t guessed already: Reversible Jackets!

Dresses

Let’s say your little girl soiled her dress while travelling to an event or dropped some sauce that left a stain. All you have to do is reverse the dress and voila! Your baby girl is back in what seems like a fresh new outfit! Head here to shop reversible dresses for girls.

Shirts

Reversible shirts make so much sense! I wonder why we don’t have more of these – for kids and adults! I’d half the number of shirts I own if I could just reverse each one of them to get a new pattern or colour. An added perk of reversible shirts is that your child is good to go even if he wears it inside-out. Thinking of getting a reversible shirt for your little one? Pop here to check it out.

Sweatshirts

While we’re talking about creating new designs with existing pieces of clothing, take a look at some reversible sequins work on jumpers. These don’t create a whole new outfit per se but create a new design element based on which direction you decide to brush the sequins. Not sure what I’m talking about? Take a look at this sweet sweatshirt.

I personally think reversible clothing is very clever. What do you think? Let me know in the comments!
