Creative, Fun Return Gift Ideas for Your Kids’ Birthday Bash!

Being a stay-at-home, freelancing mom has definitely taught me how to be fun (not “boring” – as my kids put it) and how to be on the same page as my kids. When my beautiful first-born came into this world, his tiny visage seemed miraculous to my fatigued eyes! I was super thrilled and super scared at the same time.

However, nothing has ever seemed as difficult or exhilarating to me as planning my babies’ birthday parties. I am obsessed about making things perfect (much to my husband’s chagrin, hehe!), so when it came to deciding the return gifts, I went all out with my choices and left no stone unturned to make my kid’s friends happy!

While shopping for return gifts, I had a clear understanding of the fact that the task isn’t easy! In fact, it is tiring and confusing. Fret not, for I have compiled a shortlist of some of the most creative return gifts that you can look at for your kid’s birthday bashes.

Happy buying, mommies and daddies!

Funky badges

Party badges are becoming an extremely cool concept. There are different sets of patterns for boys and girls! These are cost-effective and therefore, you can splurge without worrying too much.

Piggy banks

Extraordinarily child-appropriate, a piggy bank is the perfect return gift. The best part is that you can buy piggy banks in sets of 6 and they are reasonably priced so the purchase won’t leave you feeling like you got ripped off!

LED wrist bands and bracelets

Very funky, creative and colourful, LED wrist bands come in various patterns and shapes. Since they are bright and colourful, they usually attract children’s attention. These bands are a huge hit among my son’s friends.

Soft drink can-shaped pencils

This gift idea worked like a charm during my older son’s 4th birthday bash. A creative take on the typical ball pen, these can-shaped pens come with attached keychains and the flow of ink is surprisingly uniform. In case you’re wondering, these pens do not leave any smudges or gaps while writing.

Printed Haversack bags

These bags are typically cartoon-printed and famous among kids aged 1-5 years old. There are art prints on both sides of the bag and the material is super kid-friendly. These bags have become quite a hit ever since I distributed them as return gifts for Aarav’s 5th birthday!

Wooden stationary holders

Both my sons are obsessed with stationaries and they are always eyeing for more when we are out shopping! Since this seems to be a common phenomenon, stationary holders are a good idea for return gifts. Look for the wooden ones as they are more sturdy and durable and come in different colours and patterns.

Fidget spinner

Does your child has a short attention span? My second born does, and as much as I’ve tried everything to hold his attention, nothing ever seemed to work! That is until he was introduced to fidget spinners. Fidget spinners make for amazing return gifts as kids are always in awe of these things and they solve a major problem for the parents.

Keychains

Football keychains, Pokemon characters, Spiderman keychains have become very popular among kids these days. They make for remarkable return gifts as kids are fascinated with the colours, movie/cartoon characters and designs! This return gift idea is also a no-brainer.
