Who doesn’t want a jawline like Angelina Jolie? But alas, most of us are not blessed with high cheekbones or a sculpted jawline. We have to make do with a full face, which, for some reason, doesn’t seem to be represented in today’s idea of “beauty”. While there is nothing wrong with having a full face, it’s okay to want a sharper jawline too. There are several articles on the internet on how to reduce face fat but most of them involve weird face masks and devices which definitely don’t work.

It’s impossible to go from a chubby face to a chiselled jawline unless there is surgery involved. But it is possible to make your face look relatively slimmer with a few tips and tricks. Here are some tips on how to reduce face fat or make your face look slimmer!

It’d be nice to reduce fat from certain parts of your body. But unfortunately, spot reduction is a myth and it’s not possible to reduce fat from only one part of your body. In order to reduce fat from a certain part of your body, you have to reduce the overall body fat percentage. This is possible through diet and exercise. The lower your body fat percentage, the leaner you will look and that applies to your face too.

Hydrate and eat healthy

There is a chance that your face is puffy because you are retaining a lot of water. Water retention can cause puffiness and even bloating. The best way to tackle this is by drinking more water and reducing your salt intake. Ensure you drink at least 2 litres of water every day.

Like I already mentioned, the best way to reduce face fat is by reducing your overall body fat percentage and one of the best ways to do that is through working out. The right amount of cardio and weight training will help you cut down on fat while simultaneously building muscle which will make you look more toned and sculpted. It’s also important to have a protein and fibre rich diet.

Face yoga is supposed to not only make your face look slimmer but there are claims that it also helps prevent premature ageing of the skin. You do not have to join a yoga class for this, just follow any of the hundred face yoga videos available on Youtube.

If everything fails, remember that you are perfect the way you are and that superficial things like “face fat” shouldn’t be allowed to determine your feeling of self-worth. Embrace your full face. People with chubby faces tend to look 5 years younger as their skin doesn’t sag as quickly. That baby face will make you look beautiful even when you are in your 50’s!
